Primary Tasks:

Perform cross connects of new phone lines to inside cabling. Install, test and label inside cabling if needed. Program Avaya and Nortel PBX and keys systems if needed. Install, label and test phones, faxes and modems.

Information:

This position is a volunteer, non-employment position with the City of Austin. In times of emergency volunteers may be activated by the City to respond to the emergency.

Minimum
Qualifications:

High school or GED. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Previous experience with inside structured cabling. Previous experience with: VOIP, Nortel or Avaya PBX and key equipment. Skill in handling hostile, conflict, and uncertain situations.



Licenses:

Valid TX class C Drivers License Required.
