Primary Tasks:

Transports furniture, office equipment, and related items within the Command Center and off-site areas as needed. Operates vehicles, carts and mechanical equipment as required to facilitate loading, unloading, and transport of materials. Routinely interacts with all constituents in the Command Center.

Information:

This position is a volunteer, non-employment position with the City of Austin. In times of emergency volunteers may be activated by the City to respond to the emergency.

Minimum
Qualifications:

Less than high school; at least 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to safely and efficiently operate mechanical forklifts, lift gates, and platforms. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to safely operate a large moving truck. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. Ability to perform effectively in an emergency. Skill in handling hostile, conflict, and uncertain situations.



Licenses:

Valid TX class C Drivers License Required.
